“How Can You Help Me if I Don’t Have a Thyroid?”

A lot of women ask me if I can help them, even if they don’t have a thyroid.

Actually, most thyroid imbalances have nothing to do with the thyroid gland itself.  Unfortunately, most doctors treat the thyroid like it’s not an important part of your system, like it can be replaced with medication.  Yet, the medication alone doesn’t bring your body back to balance and it certainly doesn’t correct the problem that caused your thyroid problem in the first place.

In 1998 I had my thyroid ablated, which means that I don’t have a functioning thyroid.  The doctors told me that I would have to take medication for the rest of my life.  However, the medication they gave me didn’t work very well for me and I started to gain weight, I had trouble sleeping and my head was in a fog all day.  I kept increasing the dosage of the thyroid medication but it wasn’t helping.

The disease that caused my thyroid imbalance did not originate in my thyroid.  Sure, the worst of my symptoms were caused by the affects that the autoimmune disease had on my thyroid but the gland was not the root of my problem.  Removing or “killing” my thyroid simply stopped the overactive thyroid symptoms but it did nothing to resolve the original disease.

So where did that leave me?

My thyroid gland was no longer functioning, and to this day that hasn’t changed. It took me years to figure what to do so I could get my health back, fortunately I finally got there.  The medication wasn’t working because my body was still unhappy on the inside, I was still inflamed, stressed and completely imbalanced.   It takes a lot more than a “magic” pill to stabilize your system.

Now I help other women who have similar stories. For example, I help women whose thyroid glands aren’t working properly, for whatever reason, hyper or hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, thyroid removal, radiation, goiter and even cancer.

The point is, you don’t have to have a thyroid gland to benefit from supporting the rest of your body. In fact, without a functioning thyroid gland you need more support than ever. This way your system will know what to do with the thyroid hormone that you take every day.

One Woman’s Success Story

by Jeda Boughton on March 10, 2015

holistic-thyroid-remedyA thyroid problem isn’t the end of the line. I’d like to share one of my patients’ success stories with you.

When Alexandra came to see me, she was really sick, stressed out and frustrated. Normally she had been very active, but when I met her she barely had enough energy to get out of bed, and her weight was fluctuating wildly.

It was difficult for Alex to work each day because her brain was so foggy… she couldn’t concentrate and it was really hard to focus. Normally a sunny personality, she was moody and couldn’t seem to get a hold on her emotions. And to make matters worse, she wasn’t sleeping.

Her endocrinologist wanted to resort to extreme measures, but Alex was looking for another way to find relief. Together, we developed a plan that included simple diet changes and adding herbs and supplements to her daily routine, all designed to address her thyroid issues in a holistic, natural way. Once Alexandra was able to start healing her body at the cellular level, she had marked improvement in just a few weeks.

Today, Alexandra is happy and living her life to the fullest. Imagine how those simple actions could affect your life, too. There is hope… You don’t have to resort to drastic measures to get your life back. And I know this from personal experience because I came out on the other end, too.
